Louka Monastery

The Louka Monastery in Znojmo, Czech Republic was founded in 1190. The Abbey was shut down in 1784 by Holy Roman Emperor Joseph II. Since its closing, the monastery has served as residence, a factory, and even military barracks. However, its current inhabitant is the Znovín Znojmo winery, keeping the old winemaking traditions of the monastery with cellars holding almost 1 million bottles of wine.
