Český Krumlov

Nestled beneath the castle and within a loop of the Vltava River lies the picturesque 13th century town of Český Krumlov. A warren of narrow streets is packed with cafes, restaurants, and shops. However, despite the significant number of tourists arriving by charter to this UNESCO World Heritage Site, the town maintains a relatively quiet feel. Located in Southern Bohemian region of the Czech Republic, it is close to the country’s Austrian border. Perhaps the greatest attraction of the town is its enormous castle, perched on a cliff above the town. In addition to touring the castle, visitors to the town can explore the Baroque theatre, the Eggenberg brewery, the regional museum, the Egon Schiele art museum, and our favorite - the Apothotek cocktail bar.

At the Apothotek, cocktails are mixed using top-shelf liquors, homemade cordials, and homegrown garnishes. Watching the passion and pride put into the performance of mixing each cocktail helps create a memorable drinking experience. Pictured here is the Basil Grande, a strong, yet fragrant and refreshing cocktail - a perfect start to the summer.
